Bude Motor Club members – and others – may be interested in the track day programme that I have arranged in 2023. I have organised over 90 events since 2001. A track day is NOT a competitive event, but an opportunity for drivers to take their own cars on a national motor circuit at speed under disciplined conditions, supervised by experienced marshals. It is like driving at illegal speeds on the motorway – consideration for slower drivers and a good lookout behind for faster cars, not the police. Overtaking is only on the straights, initiated by the slower car. Cars range from prewar to modern, but I limit the usual Caterhams and recycled kamikazes.
I prefer a fast 1990’s Volvo estate to a modern Porsche with driver gadget-assistance (which is charged £50 extra).
At Castle Combe an all-day place is £190, half day £100; Llandow £95 and £50.
